Promoting tourism

I made an exposition about Italy because it is the country that I want to visit in the future. With this exposition I knew a lot of beautiful places that there are in Italy, and I started to think about my country Costa Rica. Costa Rica is a really beautiful place full of nature and kind people. It is sorrounded by mountains and rivers, and in there live different kinds of animals. And I wonder Why we want to go to another country if we have a big one in where we can found great places. I do not know my country at all, and I do not want to visit other places until I visit mine. So, I invite you to come and know my beautiful country and maybe you are going to love it and find the love here.

Fixing our genes

When I was looking for information about genes, I found an article about genetics researches that analyzed the genomes of patients with schizophrenia. They found duplications in the DNA that cause the problem. According to the article, people with this disorder have hallucinations, disorganized speech, abnormal thought processes and other symptoms. Thanks to these researchers and more scientists that look for the consequences and cures for all those diseases that people are suffering, now people have hope to know they can have a better life.

Innovations that help our life or make us addicts

When I talk to my mother and she tells me about how her life was when she was a child, I cannot imagine my life in that way. She did not have a kitchen or light, just wood and candles. Nowadays, we have washing machines, cars, cell phones, computers, and so on, and all those inventions make our life easier. Everyday, someone invents something new, but I think that these inventions make us be addicted to them. If someone has a cell phone and sees another more sofisticated that the one that has, he or she wants the new. Sometimes new inventions are not necesary, but publicity makes us to think that we need them. That is why I think some inventions are really good and help us to have more time for other activities or make the work faster, but also they can make us forget that we do not need them at all and sometimes inventions can provoke mental and health problems, like obesity. That is the reason why parents have to care what their children see and do, and to know what kind of gifts they have to give to their kids in order not to make them addicted and forget important things like be with the family or friens, or study for their future.

Reusing newspaper, a great idea

In my Oral Communication class the professor asked us to make a Science Fair. I started to think about what I can do to help our planet, so, I asked my aunt, who is a very creative woman, and she explained to me how to reuse newspaper. I thought it was a wonderful idea because we have a lot of it at home. Also, I looked for information in the internet and I found great ideas that I applied immediately. The positive thing is that I reduced the amount of newspapers at home and my classmates asked for some articles and I made money. Very positive for me!! But what it is important with these projects is that I learned how to create beautiful articles that are very useful for us, to reuse materials, and to save the planet.

A killer of the environment

When you see images about the planet, what do you think? Maybe that is beautiful, green, blue, big, maybe that has a lot of beautiful mountains and animals, and there are a lot of people living there, but Have you seen all those parts of the world that are been killing? Well, you can look for information about Oil Exploitation that is one of the most dangerous enemies of our planet. All those industries that extract petroleum do not care about the negative effects of all the waste substances that are throwing to the rivers. Not only they are killing fishes and contaminating the rivers, but they are killing people, too. These companies just care about their economical situation, but they are not concern about the problem. It is very sad to see all those birds and fishes covert with oil because of the spills, and it is very sad to know that we all use all those electronic devices that are contaminating the environment. We are able to change this and we can start at home. Nowadays, there are different techniques that we can use in order to replace all those electronic devices. We just have to look for alternatives that help us to save the planet and stop Oil Exploitation. If we start to use other kinds of energy we can stop this killer.

Nuclear Power, is it a solution for the environment?

Since people started to talk about Global Warming, everybody begins to find solutions about the problem. One of the major problems has been Petroleum because it has been used for all the electronic advances in the world and it has affected the environment. Now, countries like Iran, United States, and Finland have approved the construction of Nuclear Plants. But I wonder if it is the solution of the problem or it is just a way to gain money. An advantage of Nuclear Plants is that it generates a lot of jobs, but as we know a Nuclear Plant is very dangerous. So, what is the solution? It is difficult to say it, but what we have to think is how to help our planet and our future. We as future workers and maybe future presidents and ministers have to realize that we have to find solutions since now and started to work on it.

Globalization: Child Labour

When we talk about globalization we think that this word only means money, business, technology, but there is a bigger problem behind this. According to UNICEF, 158 million children aged 5-14 are engaged in child labour, one in six children in the world. All children have the opportunity to go to school and to live in peaceful environment, but all these children do not have these opportunities. Instead of go to school these children work in mines, chemicals and pesticides in agriculture or work with dangerous machinery. Instead of being with their families they are forced to work. These children work in hazardous conditions. It is very sad to know that this is happening and we can not do anything. Even in our country we can see children working in the streets selling pencils or stickers and nobody does something. Not only the government has to work against child labour, but all of us have to do something. If we want a better future for our children we have to find solutions right know, and we can start in our communities.

Do You Believe There Is Life In Others Planets? Yes, I Do

Since Tales to NASA have given evidence that there is life in other planets. A lot of videos and testimonies are seen by millions of people around the world. People say that they have seen lights and objects in the sky, but is this true? Personally I believe that Yes!! The universe is really big just for us. A lot of galaxies, planets, and starts are not there just for being there. According to information that my classmates gave in our class, there are planets in where there are rivers, volcanos, and plants, So, if there is this king of life in those planets, there is a big probability that human beings like us, not phisically, but alive.

The Benefits of Space Journeys

People have different opinions about space journeys. There are people that are in favor and there are people against. But, if we look for information, we can found a lot of important projects and technology that we have because of space journeys. Satellites, telescopes, and even kitchens are some of the benefits. All these electronic advances make our life easier and more comfortable and also gives us hope for our future life. Electronic arms and legs, artificial organs, new ways to see and hear, and more advance technologies are all the discoveries that these scientists and astronauts have given us in order to help all of us to be comfortable in this world and to have a better life.

What Is To Be A Good Speaker?

All of us are different in terms of being a good speaker and everyone has different techniques in order to give speeches. So, Are those techniques the ones that make us to be good? or Is our personality that helps us to be good? Well, both of them are important when we talk about being a good speaker. When we are in front of a big public what do we feel?, maybe panic, fear, or nervous. When we have these feelings we follow the rules that our teacher gave us or a list that we found in the Internet. Whatever we use in that moment is a good technique that helps us to continue with our speech. Being a good speaker is to follow certain rules of a list or just our own rules. It is how to deal with our feelings and make them work in our favor. It is to deal with a different public every time we give an speech and make them fun. It is to give the best of us, to know what we are going to talk about, to interact with people, and, as our professors say, it is to make eye contact, speak slowly and fluent, and to be careful with pronunciation and grammar. But, the most important is to be ourselves and be the best.
